New school website!

Parents and Guardians,

We are currently in the process of reconstructing our school website. The new address is http://ths.alpineschools.org

Please be patient as we upload existing data and information.  Our home page slide show, school calendar, and Skyward link should now be active and up-to-date.  We anticipate that our website will be fully functioning by the beginning of the 2012-13 school year.

  • Summer office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. (Monday - Friday).  Ms. Gull, our receptionist, can help you with most questions (801-610-8175).  The office will be closed on July 4 and 24.
  • School counselors will check e-mails weekly throughout the summer.  Please contact your student's counselor if you have questions.  Pay particular attention to the class change procedure document on the home page slide show.  The document was e-mailed to you earlier today.
  • Administrators are also available throughout the summer.  E-mail your student's administrator or contact Ms. Gull in the main office to schedule an appointment.
  • Be sure to support THS students and teams this Saturday, June 9 @ 7:00 P.M.  We are participating in the Summerfest Parade.
Enjoy a great summer!  We look forward to an EXCELLENT 2012-13 school year.  Thanks for your continued support.

Kudos to Cross-Country!

Dear Mr. Murphy:

I think it is important that you know what your students are doing on their trip to California.

I was tired and hungry when I stopped at Panda Express for supper. The line for service was moving slowly. Next thing I know, five or six high school students came and got in line. In a few minutes, more came; and then more.

I silently rolled my eyes knowing full well how exuberant 13-18 year old students can be when in groups. I also began to look around the room to see where I would be likely to find a seat, if they should start landing at the tables even before they got their meals.

As a retired school teacher, counselor and administrator, I was preparing for the worst and hoping for “not too bad”.

Well, sir, I am delighted to tell you that I was overwhelmingly surprised and pleased. Not only were they well mannered as they waited patiently in line, in addition, they sat down and ate their meals like normal human beings. They were smiling and happy without being boisterous or obnoxious. The girls who sat at the table across from me were pleasant to observe. I am accustomed to the body language of gossip. Instead I saw friendly interaction.

It was a little while before I even noticed that their vocabulary was the kind one would like to hear all the time. Not only was there no profanity, they actually spoke plain English.

Not only that, but they talked to each other without the constant interruption of text messages.

When I finally asked where they were from, they pleasantly told me they were from Timpanogos High School in Utah and they were the cross country team here for a track meet on Saturday.

Let me assure you that it doesn’t really matter how they do in the track meet, they are all winners already. Each of them has taken advantage of positive parental guidance as well as church and school training to become fine young ladies and gentlemen.

Be proud of your young people: You have a right to be.

THS the BEST (Staffulty)

Check out our fantabulous faculty & staff!

Cindy Grimm is the Timpanogos High School Employee of the Year. Cindy works in our library and is such a fantastic addition to our school. Accolades from all over the building were given to Cindy today. She's made such an addition to our school, works on many committees, including the School Improvement Committee with data, and was a huge part CRT testing last year. We're so lucky to have Cindy at our school!

Kori Crampton has worked at THS for the past 14 years. She's a huge asset to the English department and a perpetual student favorite. She's on the flex committee, served as the junior class adviser last year, and as Donalee Eisenhart said today, "The nicest person ever."
Her students will tell you they adore her costumes, projects, and scintillating classroom instruction. She pushes kids to do their best through her adoration of them, believing in them, and believing that every child can do what she asks them. She sincerely believes in every child. Her absolute faith in the ability of students is the power of Kori Crampton.

Celebrating U

Dance Break! "Tonight's Gonna
Be a Good Night"
Today, the teachers went to UVU to celebrate
"Standing Together" and another 5 years. We rode two big yellow school busses, and the faculty did some dances (see Michelle Larsen get down to some Black Eyed Peas). We also were greeted by friendly students from StuCo and cheer. It's great to see familiar faces at the doors. You ROCK T-wolves!
